2014 entries open!

Thursday, August 7, 2014 - 10:00

Entries are now open for the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials (11th -14th September) at www.bdwp.co.uk/ble and already many overseas federations have advised that they will be sending not only competitors for the CCI3* and CIC3* 8 &9 year old but also for the new Brightwells Elite Event Horse Auction on the Friday too.

A high class and packed field of the world’s top names is expected for this popular September fixture which is renowned for its challenging cross country course of interesting fences and undulating going – one for fit horses and riders!

No doubt there are many competitors who will be aspiring to follow in the hoof prints of  NZB Land Vision, Oslo or Quimbo who, having won the CIC3* 8&9 year old class at Blenheim, quickly went on to four star wins. Competitors will also wish to emulate the success of Parklane Hawk, Seacookie or Fenyas Elegance - winners of the CCI3* for whom their Blenheim win marked the start of further success. It surely is a place to spot horses of the future and never more so then with the newly introduced Brightwells Elite Event Horse Auction which offers many of the best event horses currently for sale in the UK and Europe.

This year the cross country runs anti-clockwise and although it will incorporate many fences which have been used previously, a makeover and placement in a new location gives them a fresh look and poses a new challenge for competitors.

The format of the competition has returned back to Dressage (both classes) on Thursday and Friday, CCI3* Cross Country followed by CIC3* Show Jumping on Saturday and lower placed CCI3* Show Jumping, CIC3* Cross Country followed by CCI3* higher placed competitors Show Jumping and prize givings on Sunday.

Throughout the event there is a wide range of displays, demonstrations, lectures and attractions available to watch, masterclasses and fun jumping activities featuring famous faces such as Carl Hester MBE and the Master’s Gate Jumping Challenge, over 200 shops and for amateur riders a fun ride on Sunday as well as arena eventing classes.
