Elite Event Horse Auction returns

Friday, June 19, 2015 - 12:30

Building on the success of the inaugural Brightwells Blenheim Elite Event Horse Auction at Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials in 2014, Brightwells have signed a three-year contract to conduct a sale at the Oxfordshire three-day-event (17th-20th September 2015).

This year’s auction, which will take place at 4pm on Friday 18th September after the conclusion of the dressage, will be restricted to four and five year old horses. These horses will selected throughout Europe, namely the UK, Ireland, Holland, Germany and Belgium.

Richard Botterill of Brightwells said, “The inaugural auction in 2014 was a great learning curve, for Brightwell and for the vendors and purchasers. We have been able to implement changes that will benefit all, enabling the sale to be even better. We are delighted to be working closely once again with Mandy Hervieu and her team at Blenheim to make the 2015 auction a special occasion and the opportunity to purchase high class future eventing prospects.”

The sale will take place near to the start of the Cross Country course, in a new designated presentation area with exclusive Brightwells parking facilities nearby for potential buyers.

Mandy Hervieu, Event Director, added, “Brightwells are a key partner to the horse trials and this year are investing even more, helping us to put on another fantastic event and adding another dimension to the occasion. They are a great supporter, and we look forward to welcoming them and their potential buyers back.”

The UK selection day for the Brightwells event horse sale will be on 13th July at Washbrook Farm, Aston-le-Walls. An Irish selection day will take place at the end of July at Wexford Equestrian Centre, Co Wexford.
