Nominated Charity 2014

World Horse Welfare

Our chosen charity for 2014 was World Horse Welfare, the leading international horse charity which aims to stamp out the unnecessary suffering of horses, while working in conjunction with horse owners, communities and governments all over the world.

Make a donation to help Britain’s horses, as well as the 100 million working equines in the developing world.

World Horse Welfare is the UK’s largest horse rescue and rehoming charity. With its dedicated network of Field Officers across the country, together they work hard to investigate reports of horses in distress, advise owners and bring desperate horses into its four Rescue and Rehoming Centres for urgent care and rehabilitation.

Its international programmes bring lasting improvements to the way people care for working horses in some of the world's poorest communities across Africa, Central America and Asia.

The charity also campaigns to improve policy and practice across the equine world, shaping the laws that protect horses and promoting better standards of care.

As independent welfare advisers to the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) and British Horseracing Authority (BHA), World Horse Welfare will be supporting the responsible use of horses in sport at Blenheim this year.

Blenheim was thrilled to be able to work with World Horse Welfare, a charity that offers genuine, realistic solutions and support to horse owners at all levels in all corners of the world.

Of course the charity relies entirely on donations from the public and with the ever-worsening equine crisis meaning that 7,000 horses are at risk of neglect or abuse across the UK, all while charity centres are bursting with welfare cases, World Horse Welfare needs support now more than ever.
