British Horse Society (BHS)

The British Horse Society represents the interests of the 3.5 million people in the UK who ride or who drive horse-drawn vehicles. Their ambition is simple - they want to create a world where every horse is respected, protected and enjoyed by knowledge caring people.

As the most influential equestrian charity in the UK, the BHS works day in, day out, tackling issues such a welfare, protecting access rights in the countryside, safety and they deliver the very best in education.

We are delighted to announce the BHS as the nominated ‘Charity of the Year’ and this year they will be collecting funds to directly help the vital work of their welfare team. This will enable the BHS to:

·         Act immediately on reports of horses in distress or welfare concerns

·         Help deliver the important training programmes which welfare officers need

·         Promote responsible breeding and deliver more castration clinics

·         Fight and lobby for horses ‘rights’

·         Operate the ‘Friends at the end’ service, making sure that no horse owner has to face the loss of their equine companion alone
